Soursop (Annona muricata), is a very popular fruit, not only in Jamaica, but also throughout areas with warm, tropical climate. The leaves of the soursop tree are highly sought after by herbal doctors as they are believed to aid in the treatment for a host of illnesses including tumor-like cells, stomach ailments, fever, parasitic infections, hypertension, Diabetes and rheumatism.
 
Moringa is rich in many essential vitamins and minerals, nearly all parts of the tree can be eaten or processed for use in traditional herbal medicines. According to research, the moringa plant contains vitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin C, iron, riboflavin and magnesium. The leaves and the pods contains more vitamin C than some oranges. Moringa contains antioxidants that protect cells from oxidative stress and damage and may reduce inflammation. The 2012 study featured in the Journal of Food Science and Technology also found that moringa leaf powder reduced fasting blood sugar levels in women by 13.5%.
